Five TikTok users in Montana have filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking to block the state's new ban on the Chinese-owned platform.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Montana on May 18, argues that 

the ban violates the First Amendment rights of TikTok users in the state. 

The lawsuit was filed by TikTok users who are all residents of Montana. 

Montana blocked TikTok because of national security concerns. 

The state government believes that TikTok could be used by the Chinese government to collect data on U.S. users.
